Gospel Reflection

This week's Gospel contains perhaps the most famous words of Jesus: the beginning of the Sermon on the Mount, that portion we call "the Beatitudes." This is Jesus explaining what it means to be blessed: who might consider themselves and why. Jesus surprises his listeners; if you are listening you will likely be surprised, too! As we prepare four Annual Meeting this weekend, let us reflect together on God's invitation and calling to us: what does the Lord require?
