Gospel Reflection
Jesus' famous parable is often called the Parable of the Sower, but it is perhaps more aptly called the Parable of the Soils. The point of the parable is how God's invitation is received in each life -- in your life and mine. What kind of soil does your heart resemble?
The work we do at church is that of plowing and remediation: preparing the soil of our hearts to be more productive with the good news offered by God. Our desire is to experience more fully the harvest of goodness we hear promised to us in holy Scripture. Come to St. Luke's this week and prepare your heart to receive what it is that God is offering you.

Smoke Detector Campaign
We are getting closer to our goal of raising $70,000 for our Smoke Detector Fund. We still need another $10,000 to make it to $70,000.
Now, a member of our congregation has generously offered to match your gift of any amount up to $5,000. Your contribution is important and now you can have it matched, making it possible for us to close the gap and get our new smoke detector system. If you have not given earlier or if you are moved to give a little more, why not do it now while the “matching” gift is in effect?
Thank you!

Pease continue donating so we can support First Presbyterian Food bank.
They are experiencing significant shortages during the summer months. This seasonal challenge is exacerbated by increased demand as families seek assistance to replace meals typically provided by school programs. Many children who rely on free or reduced-cost meals during the school year face food insecurity when classes are not in session.
