Connecting you to the events, meetings & services

Gospel Reflection

Jesus says, "You are of more value than many sparrows." In case you were

wondering.

When you tell your partner, your parent, your child, "I love you," it is

to be hoped that they already know. But sometimes we all like a little

reassurance.

Jesus' listeners probably knew they were worth more than many sparrows.

But maybe sometimes they wondered. Maybe they were in need of a little

reassurance.

If you've never had doubts about your own self-worth, maybe you don't

need the Gospel. But such doubts are a part of life for most of us.

There are all kinds of people and forces that like to cast doubt on our

worth: our competence, our attractiveness, our charm. Sometimes we all

need a little reassurance.

In the bread and wine of the Eucharist we find reassurance of our worth,

our worthiness, before God. Join us at St. Luke's this week and be

reminded: you are God's beloved.

Wardens Corner

At our Vestry meeting of June 16, Tammy F advised that there was an increase in pledge dollars received in May. There were no extraordinary expenses. Progress continues in populating Churchtrac. The Finance team will continue to follow this throughout the summer. Investments continue to earn good interest.

To date we have received $60,650 in the Smoke Detector Campaign. There is still time to donate. The last bid on this project is expected this week, and after careful analysis we will select a vendor. We are looking for someone to take our old Ricoh printer to a disposal site. Please see Monica T or a Warden for more info. Save the Date! Our gifted Choral Scholars will present a recital led by our talented Music Minister on Sunday, June 28 at 6 PM. Plan to join us!
