Nails in the Wall Gallery Call for Art

Fall 2026 Call for Art: “Light and Shadow”

ENTRIES DUE JULY 21, 2026

Light and Shadow: a Study in Contrast

Luminescence. Shade. Chiaroscuro.

Light and dark existed at the creation of the world.

Can there be light without darkness?

Is shadow the absence of light, or does it have an intentional form and substance?

Is light good and darkness evil, or does each contain both?

Shadows may be foreboding, or they may provide solace.

Beautiful illumination may expose a little too much reality.

We invite the artist to incorporate light and shadow, literally or figuratively, in the abstract or realistically, to create the essence of contrast.

Artists may submit up to 5 pieces* by filling out the form below, or by email to:

exhibits@stlukesmetuchen.org
