10 Safety Commandments for In-Person Worship

Because we care about the other members of our community, we will all personally need to abide by the following 10 Safety Commandments that have been developed under the direction of the Diocese of NJ:

  1. Only attend in-person services if I do not have any symptoms of COVID-19 (not from another non-contagious health condition) such as Fever or chills, Cough, Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, Fatigue. Muscle or body aches. Headache, New loss of taste or smell, Sore throat, Congestion or runny nose, Nausea or vomiting or Diarrhea; and am not in a situation where I have been exposed to COVID-19 & should be self-quarantining based on the CDC guidelines.
  2. Follow the guidance of the ushers including to be seated and dismissed after the service
  3. Only enter the auditorium through the main door, arriving 5-20 minutes before the service is scheduled to begin
  4. Wear a mask that properly covers both my nose and mouth at all times on church property
  5. Remain at least 6 feet from others not in my household while on church property
  6. Use hand sanitizer before entering the auditorium or sanctuary - touch-less hand sanitizer stations will be available at the door
  7. Not sing out-loud
  8. Remain in my folding-chair-cluster "pew" during the entire service (except to use the restroom) – only sharing the peace with those outside of my pew with a peace sign or other sign of peace
  9. At the time of communion, I will remain in my seat with my mask on (Fr. Ed will come to you & place a communion wafer in your hand). I will not move my mask to consume my wafer until Fr. Ed reaches the next group and I will put your mask back in place to cover your mouth and nose.
  10. Not congregate on church property, inside or outside, before or after the service

Request to attend an In-Person

Saturday or Sunday Worship Service

Because St. Luke's prioritizes the health and safety of our community during the continuing COVID -19 pandemic and because only a limited number of people can attend each service, you MUST complete the Request to Attend an In-Person Service Form by Friday at 8 am before the service to request to addend that service (see green button). To ensure that all who wish to attend in person have a chance to do so, we will be we will be reviewing each week's requests and granting them in an equitable way. PLEASE  do not come to a service unless you receive an email on the Friday afternoon before the service that your request was granted. It would break our hearts to have to turn you away. Note: Completing this form does NOT mean that you have a reservation - it is a request for a reservation.

Before clicking the green button below to fill out the request form, please review the 10 Safety Commandments for In-Person Worship below to see if you will be comfortable attending at this time. Also, please be aware that you will need to provide your own service materials which may be printed or accessed through your phone or tablet and that Virtual Coffee Hour will continue to take place at 11:30 am (see below). If you are not yet comfortable to attend in person, all three services will continue to be live-streamed on our YouTube Channel. Thank you for doing your part to keep each other safe. Looking forward to seeing you at a service.
