Creating your own set of Anglican Prayer Beads is a wonderful way to begin the Lenten season.  Fr. Ed will be blessing the kits so that your prayer beads will be blessed.

The use of  prayer beads helps to bring us into contemplative or meditative prayer-really thinking about and being mindful of praying, of being in the presence of God - by use of mind, body, and spirit. The touching of the fingers on each successive bead is an aid in keeping our mind from wandering, and the rhythm of the prayers leads us more readily into stillness.

Sign up using the form to the right to reserve a prayer bead kit which includes:

  • 1 wooden cross
  • 6 stone or glass beads (1 Invitatory Lavender Quartz, 1 White Howlite Resurrection, & 4  Cruciform Beads  of the same color)
  • 28 wooden beads (Weeks Beads)
  • 50+ small separator beads
  • ~30 in. of  waxed cotton cord
  • large eye needle
  • instructions for making and praying with your prayer beads

If  you have beads that you like, you can swap them out for ones in the kit.

The kit is free, but we will be accepting donations to cover the cost of the supplies, as well as to support the church.
